This ultra-rare self-titled album by the Dutch rockers Blues Addicts was originally released in 1970 on the Spectator label. That label was originally responsible for the classic Terje, Jesper and Joachim album which was recently rereleased by Shadoks. Shadoks have also seen fit to bring Blues Addicts back into print.
The creamy distorted lead guitars that are splashed lavishly all over this album come courtesy of axe-sligner Ivan Horn - who doubles his leads at times on vocal to good effect. Listeners will hear Hendrix, Cream and Zeppelin, but Blues Addicts don't come off like mere imitators. While Horn's choice guitar work is the main attraction here, the drummer, bassist and conga player are no slouches either. English vocals are handled by Horn and by conga player Gibber Thomson.
